Three things to keep in view when you’re watching the telly tonight.
It is possible to transpose these 3 points to the print platform the next day.

SMSs have been flying back and forth Bangkok and KL since news broke out of the military coup in Bangkok.
The latest one I received from a Bangkok-based politician at 1215 am says the following:-
“Confirm Gen Sonti takeover power. Thaksin must go to ICC (International Criminal Court) Court.”
The (Re)Making of Musa Hassan (1) September 8, 2006

The one and only time I’d come face-to-face with incoming Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Musa Hassan was almost five years ago, despite the fact that we live in the same neighbourhood.
It was at a meeting between then IGP Norian Mai, S. Arutchelvan (Suaram) and I on the case of Tian Chua‘s custodial assault. Musa was present at this meeting at Bukit Aman which all of lawyer friends had this fantastical assumption that we would not be able to walk out of the police HQ.
Whenever I think of that meeting, two things come to mind.

Arus dan garis Anwar Ibrahim
Hishamuddin Rais
Hairan.
Selling the budget September 2, 2006

I loved the frontpage of New Straits Times today. Great idea to have adequate numbers of pleasant-looking people, well-compose, advertising how great the 2007 budget is. On par with those advertisements of starlets selling air-conditioners and kettles.
Putting those crucial elements and bold bullet-points aside, what can be said about the budget as a whole? (more…)

(more…)
