The Pangkor retreat May 10, 2007

Posted by elizabethwong in Malaysia, Note2Self, Politics.

Today’s Utusan Malaysia reported on the BN Backbenchers’ Club retreat to be held this weekend in Pangkor.

Most would have just read that and dismissed it some degree of indignation, “Here’s another junket at the expense of good public money.”

I did too, until a couple of mysterious SMSs arrived. One of them said,

“Was told they push election fast so that solidarity btwn pas, pkr & dap never develop like in Ijok. watch PANGKOR. tq”

I’m still haven’t recovered from Ijok!

Is that why there’s some heavy-sounding briefing sessions by the Election Commission, the Police, the Information Ministry, the Education Ministry, the Prime Minister’s Department on Saturday?

Will the dates for the General Elections be one of the topics of discussion in this weekend’s retreat?

Why can’t politicians party like regular folks lar!
I’m reminded of Umno’s fondness for Pangkor. Among the pow-wows held there was one after the runway success of the 2004 General Elections (“We know who were there :P”).

Another time for that story.

Slowly but surely…our Parliament is becoming a circus like Taiwan. Australians call in a Kangaroo Parliament meeting.
In a way..it is good…as in the past under TDM..all behave like hypocrites and oppositions are mostly shut up or banned for m parliament sitings for few months. Karpal Signh has few those experiences whenever he spoke out.
Perhaps most took the cue from Pak Lah…especially Mr. Speaker of the house…to let them talk as much as they like. It’s good ..but like Taiwan…no quality politicians exposed daily….far far from what we view live on British parliament meetings…so gentlemanly rebuttals with so much intelligences. Cute and yet subtle. Where Malaysian politicians have those class and brains?

And the retreat to Pangkor Island? Why many slightly used virgins….are waiting there..all arranged. Why are we not surprised.
I recalled whenever UMNO have a sort of meeting at a hotel in Melaka…more that 10 beautiful girls are sitting at the coffee house with a pimp waiting fir further instructions..not once….but all the time.

Next they will think of a golf retreat at Bukit or Haadyai…but of late Thailand is out…maybe small neigbouring countries?
That’s how part of our millions tax money are spent.

I forgot….the pimp is not what we understand it is.The pimp is a welknown MCA millionaire…feeling so proud to wait for his UMNO masters becks and calls.
