trackback

Loga, 54, of the wonderful Alleycats, passed away this morning.

It was only last month when we were asking ourselves when and where Alleycats would be playing. It was Suaram’s favourite band and we’ve always tried to make it a group outing each time they played in PJ.

RIP Loga.
Terima Kasiiiihhhh….

I have been enjoying their music for years. Last I heard them live was about 6 years ago live at Holiday Villa. Heard then live at so many places…and not once feeling bored. I think there were the first local singing group to play live at old KL Hilton….at Paddock..not coffee lounge…some 40 years ago…if my memories serve me right.
Yes they do make Malaysia proud…for they are one of the very few groups that traveled overseas and do make an impact. Unfortunately…the do not get good advertising support….plainly speaking….because they are not muslims nor malays.
May Loga soul rest in peace and may the balance of Alleycats members ….especially Loga’s family..move on with their lives happily

Loga came to the Press Club about a year ago. The Alleycats played a few numbers before they went for their nightly hotel engagement. I grew up in the 70s humming their numbers, together with JJ’s (not Jamaluddin Jarjis) Carefree and Ramli Sarip’s Sweet Charity, among others. When he was at the Press Club, he was so damn friendly. No airs about this man. We chatted like old friends and I wondered how come he never seemed to age.
Rest in peace, Loga .. Kami tetap bersedih hati.

EW: Very sedih 😦

i could still remember loga covering pink floyd’s ‘another brick on the wall’ – “we don’t need no education..”. this was at an alleycats showcase at the curve one night. they were belting out their malay hits. it was always amazing to watch these guys perform.

here’s to you loga. and to all the great songs!

may you rest in peace.

Only an old hogger, loser and shithead like Monsterball will call a man with no malice like Rocky a shit.

You should have … pergi dulu selama-lamanya!

I have met Loga when he was singing in a pub upstairs corner lot just opposite Komtar.
Very friendly and sincere. Even wished me to be safe on my way back to KL the next day.
First time met him and he treats you like a brother.
Loga..you will never be forgotten.
To his family and David.. we pray for you.
Take care.
A red rose for you Loga.

This is definitely one of the best groups in Malaysia. They were there before the others came. Simple, approachable guys, full of zest and hellos at any time – unlike our new artistes who thinks they are above the music……

Anyway Loga, thanks for the memories – we will cherish you in our hearts forever. And as you said, ändainya aku pergi sebelum mu, jangan lah enkau sedih hati…………….
