Press TV: The future of ASEAN August 1, 2007Posted by elizabethwong in Current Affairs, Event, Human Rights, International, Malaysia, Note2Self, Politics, Southeast Asia.
I’m all for media diversity so will be appearing live later tonight (2 – 3 am!) on Press TV to debate/discuss on the future of ASEAN, on the occasion of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting in the Philippines and the surprise announcement of the agreement to include an ASEAN human rights body in the anticipated ASEAN Charter.
“We are for human rights, we are for civil liberties, we are for rule of law, we want to see good governments.” (said Syed Hamid Albar to AP)
If you insist, sir.
Denizens of ASEAN should have a say, not bureaucrats and technocrats only. So if there’s any trans-border, regional issues to bring up, please leave your comments below, and I’ll try to cram as much in as possible later tonight.
I’m asked not to show my cleavage (?!) and to wear my nerdy glasses (!!!) 😛
(Update 11:00 pm – Ayam sleepy. Yawn…)
