(Updated) Two kids were reported to have been shot last night with “peluru hidup” (live bullets). One allegedly shot in the chest, the other allegedly on the neck. Currently at Kuala Terengganu Hospital – critical condition. See report here.
(Original) The Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) and the police are currently engaged trying to shut down a open-air forum (ceramah) at Pantai Batu Buruk, Kuala Terengganu, organised by Bersih.
Bersih is a coalition of individuals, NGOs and political parties for free and fair elections. One of its suggestion on the use of indelible ink was recently taken up by the SPR.
Dozens are said to have been arrested and there was liberal use of teargas to disperse the thousands to turned up since 5 pm on Saturday.
Those who were expected to speak were Datuk Mustafa Ali (PAS), Leong Ngah Ngah (DAP) and Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.
I’d asked TS Khalid whether he was alright there and he replied around 11 pm, that night:-
“Yes I am ok but we are confined inside the house. No ceramah allowed. FRU came in full force. Still street fighting with FRU.”
Maybe certain words like “free and fair elections” act as a trigger for some folks, or perhaps things are going all that well in Terengganu for Umno?

Why is the armed public servant seen kicking the public? someone has to be responsible for this paid thuggery, the public has the right to know.

It’s not much better here in India either. Cops resort to complete shows of fascism at times!
Noted is no mention of warning shots and no mention of injured police personnels.
So, what and where is the compulsive need to fire live ammo? The police in Paris didn’t do that sort of thing despite the overwhelming provocation during the prolong big time car-burning riots by protestors not that long ago.
This is sad..very sad…and lets see what Pak Lah has to say about this.
Using the excuses they are sensitive issues spoken…out come such barbaric acts to stop others from talking the truths.
Even …if things spoken not the truths….they should counter act by talking …sending so call brilliant UMNO guys to stand up there to debate…battle it out in words….but that is a dream…this high quality of politics will ever be realized in Malaysia.
This disturbing news, the 5-0s who recently had a pay-rise, now starts to shoot the same ppl who hike their salaries. They should be sacked and try in a civilian court! Everyone know only in Bolehland where coppers can do the worst and just gets to throw in their badges, nothing more!
They say journalist ethics should be enforce on bloggers, what about civilian law on coppers who breaks the law?
