Independent panel, my foot September 26, 2007

The ‘independent’ panel announced by deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak today is nothing more than a red herring.

This man is either really stupid, or he thinks we’re stupid?

Sack the Chief Justice, period. Put aside his extended contract. Form a Royal Commission to investigate the rest of the judiciary. Purge those in cohorts with Ahmad Fairuz and VK Lingam.

And Haidar, the former Chief Judge of Malaya to head the ‘independent panel’? :-O

A name that one shouldn’t forget, since he was involved in the plot to kick out Tun Salleh Abas during the 1988 judicial crisis.

The evidence of Encik Haidar, the then Chief Registrar, shows that as early as 8.30 am on the same day the Acting Lord President had anticipated the possibility of Tun Salleh’s counsel making the urgent application to the Supreme Court and had instructed Encik Haidar that the Registry of the Supreme Court was not to take any action on any such application without first taking directions from him.

Later at about 12 noon, upon being informed by Encik Haidar that an urgent application had been made to the Supreme Court, the Acting Lord President instructed him that the Court staff should not be involved and the Court room be not made available to the five Judges. Tan Sri Hamid bin Omar further expressly instructed Encik Haidar to keep the Supreme Court seal under lock and key. (Source: Bar Council of Malaysia press statement on the report of the Tribunal which sacked two Supreme Court Judges and reinstated three others. The statement was made by the then Bar Council chairman, Raja Aziz Addruse, on 9 Oct 1988)

Lee Lam Thye?
Collector of ‘positions’ and ‘directorships’. Director of god-knows how many public listed companies. Head of the National Service Training who doesn’t even have the decency to resign after more than a dozens deaths and numerous more complaints. In some crime prevention foundation, which millions have been pumped in, and clearly not prevented the deluge of serious crimes. Oh yah, I think he was even once a Suhakam commissioner, but none of us from the HR groups could remember him, since he did (censored) all for HRs on public payroll.

I have no beef with Mahadev Shanker, whom I had good discussions on human rights issues during the Human Rights Commission meets in Geneva as well as in Kuala Lumpur, when he was a Suhakam Commissioner. A rose among thorns.

Updated: Someone reminded me of this (highlighted in red circle).

While this small point may not have any bearing on the composition, but it’s really a little too close for comfort, having deputy PM put a director in the same bank where his brother is the Group Chief Executive, to lead this ‘independent’ panel. (See CIMB Group chart)

how about one flat chested slant-eyed chink that no guy wants to be seen with, sits on the panel??

EW: Definitely. Make that three. Much better than a bo-LP PolisKopral (IP: 68.36.112.115) from New Jersey.

2. wits0 - September 26, 2007

Perish the thought now that things said by Najib and (happily)conveyed by dutiful Bernama(Pravda) can be above board.

in the land of the blind, the one-eyed rules.

4. whispering9 - September 26, 2007

Yes…what was that word? Aaaah…I also find YB Lee LT yucky before most did. It is a yucky panel alright. Cheer.

5. Libra - September 26, 2007

This country is being destroyed by the very people who call us “pendatang” and ask us to leave the country if we are not happy here.

Could `both` be the answer.
On Lee Lam Thye he`s also a Director of Media Prima Berhad which is basically an UMNO set up :
`As of 2007, Media Prima is the biggest media group in Malaysia, controlling approximately 53% of Malaysia television viewership, with its closest rival the pay-television satellite operator, Astro, which has a market share of roughly 20 to 30%. Media Prima also owns the Fly FM and Hot FM radio stations.`

As owner of the New Straits Times Press (NSTP), Media Prima also controls English newspapers like the New Straits Times and the Malay Mail, as well as Malay newspapers like the Berita Harian. Media Prima claims the newspapers of the NSTP hold 50% of the newspaper market share in Malaysia, with daily readership of more than two million. However, independent surveys often showed the stable of papers lagged far behind the English-language daily The Star and the competing Malay newspaper Utusan Malaysia in readership and revenues.

Good man to be used for cover ups. On his performance in the National Service it has been rumored that that`s another money spinner for those involved in the camps set up, uniforms, food etc etc. That story is yet to be told.

Greetings Eli,
I’ve been out of the country and also out of touch for a couple of weeks. Sorry, I’m going to have to rewind a bit to find my bearings here. A bit blur, and so much has happened.

Unfortunately, like so much else in Bolehland, the appointments to this Panel were based on required “connections”. I’m quite sure they could have found untainted candidates with the necessary capability, but, no, it had to be filled by well connected people.

LLT is now one of the “useful idiots” who can be called upon to act as a fig leaf for The Establishment, especially when they find it necessary to have an Ah Beng spokesman.

Once upon a time, he commanded a great deal of respect as MP for Bukit Bintang. Sadly he seems to have sold his soul for whatever gains he only knows.

I couldn’t help noticing Comment No #1. Looks like Elizabeth has a secret admirer…heheheh…

EW: hahaha (last line). Yeah, my first online stalker! The person is also an avid commentator on Malaysia-Today under the moniker SusieQ.

This ‘independent’ panel can be compared to Brother No.1 Pol Pot setting up an ‘independent’ panel including Brother No.2 Noun Chea to investigate the millions of Cambodians slaughtered in the killing fields.

To live in Malaysia in Perfect Harmony within the races, we have to believe in the concept of Bangsa Malaysia.

This can only be done be eliminating racism in politics. Racial-based politics is not health.

This is a video dedicated to Bangsa Malaysia. A song created to be a singalong anthem for Malaysian.

Welcome home, kk46 :(…sob, sob. Kopitiam no more lah. No need pay 555 hutang. Even jean tukar nick. (Sorry Eliz, for this peccadillo)

I read the above ‘Cut Some Slack’ report and I found it double yucky. Especially this part..”Just like how Dr. Hsu Darren has beautifully squared it: Let us wait to see the terms of reference of this panel before we pass any judgments.”

Why wait when the terms of reference have been summarised by Datuk Wong? http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2007/9/25/nation/18980138&sec=nation

Well, Hutch, as experience seems to have made it so for me, I feel that most Lees are great survivors(and predisposed Systemic conformists). Call me prejudiced(which can mean the advantage of hindsight), but some people seems so particularly opportunistic than others. Of course others may have different opinion…this is not discounted.

15. max - September 26, 2007

To those who were there, thank you. Looks like they are not the Sharks as jokes want them to be. The 3 Stooges, Larry, Moe and Lee, shouldn’t be given a chance. When they come up with a report, most probably it will be – nothing conclusive. The Gov will accept, thanking them. End of story. Fairuz will press for Syariah Law to replace the Common Law. Then the ppl will be force to swim in sharks infested waters again. Sorry guys. This is UMNO country. Only Allah can stop them. HE is dealing with one now.

16. hutchrun - September 26, 2007

WelI, I too pride myself as a `survivor` nothing wrong with that, but I wouldn`t call myself a conformist( rather boring actually).
More of `rock the system ` type – that too works at times 🙂 Shock n awe n all that.

Lee Lam Par is the biggest sell-out/ass-kisser ever, he’s an epitome of snitch and Judas in all its 30 silvers. I sympathies with his family for tolerating such treachery and shoulder shame on his behalf where ever they go. Watch the soup the next time you have your Yong Tau Foo,Mr. Lee Lam Par, it might be laced with people’s trust which has long turned arsenic thanks to your betrayal.

P/S: Were you holding the ‘Hammer of Justice’? Gone Norse lately. eheh

EW: Nope – that’s Jenice Lee from DAP Teratai.

18. wits0 - September 26, 2007

The Seth of Jane Roberts says it well enough, e.g.(can we dispute that): We create our own Reality, individually and en mass. Bolehland has attained shamelessness from conformism beyond the point of usefulness. Tell me I’m wrong:

EW, SusieQ is such an obnoxious ass – whether we response or ignore that psycho, is actually done at our own pleasure and choosing while he may think he bears the sting of provocation. 😀

20. wits0 - September 26, 2007

Hutch, the System does not like to be rocked (all along) because, then, all the skeletons come tumbling down like an avalanche from the rotten cupboard. Obviously. 😀

For one like SusieQ to put out a message like what she did here….she shame the women gender and a real cunt herself.
Certainly Liz is not what she described….and may she be reminded…it is not what you see ..makes a person good or bad. It is the heart and behavior…and SusieQ behaved like a sick cunt.

Hey, Whispering 9 and KK46……my buku 555 is still on lah!
Just planning to start up another kopitiam. Hopefully things will go well.
Sorry, Eli, tumpang sikit. 😉

24. hutchrun - September 27, 2007

On Haidar there`s more:

In his affidavit, Mr Manjeet supported a motion by the Bar to send Tun Abdul Hamid, the Lord President of the Judiciary, to jail for alleged contempt of court.

He referred to Tun Hamid’s instructions to the then Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Mr Haidar Mohamed Noor on July 2, 1988, to lock the doors of the Supreme Court and not let any court staff be present at a special sitting to hear an application by former Lord President Tun Salleh Abas over his suspension.

Mr Manjeet accused Tun Abdul Hamid, who was then the Chief Justice of Malaya and Acting Lord President, of attempting to prevent, frustrate and interfere with the special sitting on July 2.

Hi Eliz,

If it is any consolation…I find you extremely attractive and beautiful in that photoshoot. I would gladly just sit silently beside you the whole day long.

27. monsterball - September 27, 2007

hi old man whispering9…You go wife! I should say that to Liz..No one will hentam me from home…even I don’t return all night long..and I met Liz personally. She does have a magnetic smile and I did take a Superman like glance. Her skin is as smooth as towfu…and tall slender with great figure!! How on earth SusieQ call her flat chested….she is shit..I tell you…pure jealousie lah. I also found out…Liz have children and a very loving hubby…so all no chance…got it?

28. wits0 - September 28, 2007

“And Haidar, the former Chief Judge of Malaya to head the ‘independent panel’? :-O”

And HideAll also made this call in theStar:
“Help in probe, Haidar tells person who took video”

Truly incredible, he is expecting such Great Expectation and free lunch in a scenario where rule of law is subservient to rule by law. Cuckoos’ nest surreality.
