BN thuggery, call for donations March 2, 2008

Saturday morning saw us at Kg Kayu Ara Selatan, where we organised a press conference with the residents of Antara Vistana who had been waiting for court ordered compensation (due to late delivery of flats) for almost a year now. This compensation was between 5 to 8 thousand ringgit.

The residents were told the company had no money and were asked to accept payment between RM 800-1200 each family. But some 130 families are still pressing for the full amount to be paid.

One of the directors, a former Umno branch treasurer strolled in and denied everything. But when the residents asked for a schedule of their repayment, he moved away.

A local Umno heads took the opportunity to speak to the media and complained that even he, as a local leader, was embarrassed that the BN reps did not assist them. He showed us a letter from the Prime Minister’s Department, dated February, which vaguely reassuring them that he would look into the matter. (I’ll post the letter later), no doubt to appease them until the General Elections.

We found out too in the morning, that our 2 pondoks were destroyed earlier this morning by thugs from the BN at Damansara Damai around 4-5 am. A van, a kancil and 2 motorbikes were used by these thugs. They had smashed the pondoks (photos to be uploaded later) and this afternoon, a welder had to be called in to fix it back again. 😦

We also heard another car had tailed our poster team which then proceeded to cut down our freshly hung poster-lines and tore down buntings. It would cost us several thousand ringgit to get fresh supplies of buntings and to rebuild the tents – money that the Opposition can ill-afford.

Our response to this piece of BN thuggery is:- to rebuild everything again (and the PAS guys were really fantastic with their help and expertise) and have a ceramah at Damansara Damai on Sunday night :D!

So finally, here’s my long-overdue call for donations via my blog – something which some politico-bloggers have been experimenting, with some sucess.. I’d been wanting to do this for some time, but haven’t had time to sit down and post it.

We need your financial contributions in order to effectively run this campaign. This is the most crucial in these last 6 days. My target is RM 30,000 for this remaining week, in our final push to victory.

Our funds will be spent on leaflets, brochures, posters, buntings, billboards, manpower, ceramah logistics (e.g., stage and amplifier systems), transport, SMS, etc.

If you require a receipt for your donation, please contact us at <bukitlanjan2008@gmail.com> with your donation details, name and mailing address. You can also call 016.311.0120 for enquiries, elizabethwong.org for more information.

From what i read in Saturday’s Star newspaper, an UMNO member accused Yong Dai Ying of “not doing her job as wakil rakyat and not fulfilling her promises made to the UMNO branch” during her campaign trail in Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Lanjan. Perhaps you can look into this. There are 147 residences of Orang Asli and i dont know if this is worth your time. Its your call. These people should be easy to please and i dont see why YDY failed to live up to her promises.

More importantly, I havent seen any of your posters in Damansara Perdana yet. Me getting a little anxious ler:)

EW: The entrance of D. Perdana was extensively postered and also with buntings. But they were torn down. I too am getting ainsy and tired of this. This is the kind of war BN is good at – cheating and intimidation. The gloves are officially off.

2. Alvin - March 2, 2008

I will donate RM100.00. I will bank in from Kota Kinabalu CIMB at api-api center. Hope this could help out a bit. Do what you can to deny BN the votes!!!I have enough of them!! I have been lied to by the encik abdullah badawi and his govt.

3. Sam Tam - March 2, 2008

If the police can take action against those tearing down the BN posters and buntings, why are they taking NO ACTION in your case (as if I don’t know!!)??

4. Joseph - March 2, 2008

Will support you. ehmm… do you have maybank account?

5. hasilox - March 2, 2008

If thugs can try an intimidate an honest democratic campaigners and damage your property, can you imagine our fears and concern living in a middle class area around Bandar Utama, Mutiara Damansara and Bandar Sri Damansara. Most of our hard earn money goes to taxes, petrol and paying the extra home guard security and suffering those exhorbitant high foreign currency university fees to give our Petaling Jaya born children an education overseas without scholarship.
I contribute RM100 and hope that as our future DUN you will help work with the local councils to keep our private property safe and public places secured. A MALAYSIAN MIDDLE CLASS DILEMMA

7. Concerned Citizen - March 2, 2008

Can you not lodge a police report on the damage to your pondoks, buntings and other properties. Make a protest a claim against either the Election Commission or the caretaker government who promised a SAFER Malaysia in their 2004 manifesto

Politicians are all the same, and they are all consistently unreliable , because if he is reliable then he will not survive as a politician, therefore is Kheng Yaik any better than Dato Seri Anwar; I can say for certain that one is no better than the other. What I am saying is that we do not need to know anything about any particular candidate. We really do not need to know whether he is a good man or otherwise; and this perspective runs counter to what everybody is saying about what this has done or have not done. It is absolutely pretentious to claim that we are able to correctly assess the character of Dato Seri or Kheng Yaik and determine who is the better man. I SUPPORT DATO SERI ANWAR and I live in Australia therefore what do I know about Dato Sari. I do not a thing about him, and that is the thing about politics, IT IS ALL ABOUT PERCEPTION. In fact from my perspective, I will vote for Dato Seri Anwar even if I believe that Kheng Yaik and that Dato Seri is a chameleon and Kheng Yaik is correct. As I had earlier said I do not need to know anything about Dato Seri because I deal with the democratic process, I vote him because he says that under his government, RACE POLITICS WILL BE ABOLISHED and I want that so I vote for him and I do not need to know how good or bad he is. PROVE TO US WHEN YOU ARE IN GOVERNMENT OR WE VOTE YOU OUT. We therefore need to start to vote for the opposition to start the democratic process. We need to throw or better destroy UMNO now.

Dear my Chinese & Indian brothers, do not listen to Kheng Yaik because he is an UMNO dog and he will sell his mother or his wife to gain FAVOUR from the PM and UMNO. These are the UMNO dogs who hang out their tongues for CSRAPS THROWN FROM UMNO TABLE to the dining room floor. I spit on these MCA, MIC and Gerakhan dogs.

Kheng Yaik says that it was Dato Seri Anwar who put in place all those provisions that retarded the progress of Chinese education and that it was he & Najib who repealed it; let us examine Kheng Yaik’s statement to assess the credibility of his claim. I will first call Kheng Yaik A LIAR and then I will go on to examine what I mean by that epithet. I call Kheng Yaik a liar because the minister merely implements GOVERNMENT POLICY. In fact all decisions made by the Cabinet are made binding all ministers as one as ministerial cabinet collective decision. What Kheng Yaik is talking about is government policy and such policy are by the very nature taken by the PARTY IN GOVERNMENT and the minister’s function is to implement the details that will make the policy work on the ground; only UMNO as a party can change such policy and it is disingenuous to say that Najib revoked it. Having said that it can only be true that neither Najib nor Dato Seri could by himself revoke what Kheng Yaik claims credit for himself and Najib.

In this respect the powers of the minister controls only the details of implementation; but of course he has powers to grant exception in individual cases but not to change policy except with the agreement of cabinet. The Malaysian model of government mirrors that of the British. I anticipate that readers will want to ask me if ministers are so without powers then how is it that they can make money so corruptly; the answer to that question is in the power of the minister to approve contracts or such like. These functions belong to the Minister’s portfolio and they relate to “implementation. Therefore it is not true what Kheng Yaik says that it was najib who removed the offending laws that disadvantaged the Chinese.

The democratic process is all about checks and balances; therefore how can there be checks and balances if our Chinese & Indian brothers keep voting UMNO. If UMNO knows that we are all their SLAVES then where is there a need for UMNO to do what is just in line with our minority interests ? We have like a bunch of fools fear reprisals and we keep voting UMNO so do we not deserve to be spat on by UMNO as they are doing even as of now? Our duty to our selves is to vote UMNO out because it has always been UMNO that has formed government. Do we not owe it to our children and their children to pressure UMNO to act in our interests or we will put them out of business. WE NEED TO START AT THIS ELECTION TO START THE PROCESS GOING. If Keadilan, PAS DAP do not act in our interest when they are in power then in the next election we can vote them out. We need to start and now is as good a time as any. VOTE KEADILAN, DAP, PAS FOR CHANGE !

Khairy Jamaluddin DO NOT BULLSHIT, here is a real case for you and if you are a real OXFORD UNIVERSITY GRADUATE then you will know that Judge Zainon binti Mohd. Ali needs to be prosecuted for committing criminal offences.

I refer readers to my post on this fellow Khairy Jamaluddin, son in law of the Prime Minister and play-boy with a fleet of very expensive cars, please go to http://yap.chongyee.blogspot.com.

Dear Khairy Jamaluddin is all hot air, lots of empty talk before election and nothing but promises after the election. He has been put into the deputy leadership of UMNO Youth. Where else can his father in law “fast track” him into the front ranks of UMNO and eventually to succeed Ahmad Bedawi as Prime Minister ? I have observed many times that Malaysia is an oligarchy in the IRON GRIP of UMNO elite. The promises he has made so far can only exist in his mind alone and in fact cannot be realized. They are mere empty promises and are not to be taken seriously.

Let me draw this Khairy Jamaluddin’s attention to the ongoing ROYAL COMMISSION INTO JUDICIAL CORRUPTION ! What is Khairy Jamaluddin going to do to ADDRESS JUDICIAL CORRUPTION ? This is what solid and down to earth ISSUES that need to be addressed; and has he said anything about it ? Let me cite my wife’s CASE : ORIGINATING PETITION No.: D2-26-41 of 2001 in the HIGH COURT IN KL was struck out by the PRESIDING JUDGE ZAINON BINTI MOHD. ALI, who is now promoted to the court of Appeal. It is hilariously funny that judge Zainon binti Mohd. Ali was so IGNORANT OF THE LAW THAT SHE AWARDED TO THE RESPONDENTS WONG KEM CHEN, STEPHEN LIM CHENG BAN AND KWONG SEA YOON 2 directly OPPOSING ORDERS (a) for security for costs, which my wife paid in the sum of RM.60,000; therefore by this payment by my wife there is nothing else to be done except to go to court; but instead judge Zainon binti Mohd. Ali went on to ILLEGALLY AWARD TO THE NAMED RESPONDENTS A SECOND AND OPPOSING ORDER TO STRIKE OUT PETITION.

The ignorance of this judge Zainon binti Mohd. Ali is so comically profound THAT ALL HER ACTIONS ON THE BENCH IN HER ADJUDICATION OF MY WIFE’S PETITION WERE CRIMINAL. She committed the following criminal OFFENCES :

(1) Aiding & Abetting respondents Wong Kem Chen, Stephen Lim and Kwong Sea Yoon TO COMMIT the criminal offences of PERJURY & FORGERY
(2) Acting jointly with above criminal respondents in A CONSPIRACY TO PERVERT THE COURSE OF JUSTICE
(3) Acting jointly in a conspiracy to obtain money under false pretences
(4) Acting jointly in a conspiracy to obstruct police investigating criminal offences
(5) Committed the criminal offences of Malfeasance.

I had written countless letters to the Malaysian A.-G, Chief Judge of High Court of Malaya, copies to President & Secretary of Malaysian Bar Council and to this day I have not received any response. Here is a Judge of the Highest Court of Malaysia who does not KNOW THAT SHE WAS IN FACT COMMITTING SEVERAL CRIMINAL OFFENCES WHILE PERFORMING HER JUDICIAL DUTIES. I have invited the Malaysian A,G, and all those mentioned above to come to Australia to obtain my EXTRADITION FOR SEDITION so why have they failed to clear the name of Judge Zainon binti Mohd. Ali ? Why bother for the Malaysian Government to spend several millions of Ringgit to hold a bullshit Royal commission when criminal behaviour of Judge Zainon Binti Mohd. Ali is all there to READY FOR PROSECUTION.

What is this fellow Khairy Jamaluddin going to do about a REAL CASE and not one that is hot air. I invite the Malaysian Government to come to Australia to get my EXTRADITION.

Hi Eli, sad to hear that. Please do send us the photo and we will distribute. You can send me all the photo straight to my email and we will do the necessary.

One suggestion, is there anyway that you could provide a Maybank account? Many netizens make use of Maybank2U. By providing maybank acc, i believe you will obtain more donations.

Do you mind to provide to us the operation time of the Kota Damansara HQ? Some of us would want to drop by after work for the donation.

I stay in Gugusan Dedap (one of the many gov flat in KD), so if you need anyone to distribute some pamplet at these places (postbox), do let me know.

EW: Operation Room’s schedule is usually from 9 am – 3 am! Unfortunately I can’t get a MayBank account because the bank’s machine can’t read my MyKad. (cue – rant on billions spent on a ‘smartcard’ which can’t be read)

Elizabeth, I am a voter at your constituency. First of all, thank you for offering yourself to serve us at this coming general election. On your scheduled ceramah in BU on Thursday night, please do make it happen and post the details early. BU area needs a huge ceramah like the ones held in Damansara and Taman Tun which have been drawing in huge crowds (even during heavy rain). Please make sure you campaign here and bring along many speakers so that we can rock BU up the whole night. Thanks Eli and all the best on 8 March !

hi ew,
saw your ceramah with Sivarasa in Google Video. Good ceramah though. I hope you guys will win, or at least splitting the majority of your represented constituency this time.

on the other hand, the mainstream media is ‘serving’ news of defecting opposition members to the govt everyday. I have been looking into Utusan & the English dailies, and it seems like reporting defectors are their daily routine up to the GE day. Though exaggeraive, it does sound a little dicouraging, but i hope it doesn’t affect the mood of the party wholly.

salam reformasi.
