Dear friends,

I have departed today.

Despite having tendered my resignation from all posts, the media and websites continue to intrude into my private life and privacy. I have been informed by several media that they will continue to publish even more lewd graphical, sensational stories of my private life. I have also been told there will be a fresh assault, with more photographs and videos released and circulated in order to completely degrade and bury me.

This is the darkest episode in my life. I have never felt so alone, vulnerable and humiliated. I need to rest and to search for peace of mind to get away from the stormy events surrounding me.

I appreciate the overwhelming support from all quarters, especially my voters, women in particular and party comrades. Words cannot express my gratitude for your gentle kindness.

I have informed my party leaders that I am determined to relinquish all my positions, as a Selangor State Exco Member as well as the State Assemblywoman for Bukit Lanjan. I am thankful for the party leadership’s concern and encouragement. I seek their understanding for my predicament.

My commitment to the ideals of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat remains unwavering. I shall retain my party membership and continue to struggle for a just society with the party.

The nation is at a crisis facing a serious economic recession. Unemployment is rising, while corruption remains rampant. I wish public discussions would concentrate on these important issues rather than analysing my private life. My principle remains the same – I will not answer any questions pertaining to my private life. My private life is not for public scrutiny as I have not broken any law or caused harm to anyone.

I plead to the media as well as my supporters to allow me some peace of mind, and to give me space. I urge the media to leave my family, friends and I alone. Please do not continue to shame my family and I, so that we have a chance to lead a normal life as ordinary citizens.

Lastly, I wish to thank the support from the public that has been pouring in ceaselessly. I am very moved and eternally grateful to my friends and colleagues who stand by me. There is nothing in this world that can repay your kindness.

ELIZABETH WONG

You said:” This is the darkest episode in my life. I have never felt so alone, vulnerable and humiliated.”

EW, allow me to give you a big hug, I don’t know how to describe my sadness when I read your message, I could image how you feel now, but, no matter where are you now, please rememeber, you are not alone!

Time to take a break, rest well, you deserve that. Sky is not always blue, but for sure, blue sky will be come back, for a person who determines, persistent, for you, if you do not give up believing the day will come.

You are special, you are TRUE, which is hardly seen in this hyprocrite world.I like you and I know, I am not the only one. Take good care and we see again.

Smiles

Dear Elizabeth,
You are not alone. WE are all with you. WE are equally angry with the whole situation.
This is our message to the press:
STOP the nonsense. You do not have to stoop so low just for a few bucks and please save the environment. We do not need to fell more trees just for your garbage.

Eli, have a good rest and may god bless you.

Amir

Dear Eli
I am greatly saddened with what is happening. However, I wish that you can be strong to withstand the storm and continue to fight for your ideals. You have my support.

8. Mindful - February 21, 2009

Dear YB Elizabeth,

We are all supporting you… hold your head high, you don’t deserved all these smelly BN nonsense.
As suggested by Rainbow, be an INDEPENDANT ASSEMBLYWOMAN for your adun to continue to serve the people who have voted you in. Be a “friendly independent to PR”.
Let BN goons taste their own medicine as in Perak. Yes never allowed a by-election. Be an INDEPENDANT if PKR finds it hard to accept you. The people loves you. Have a good rest…

9. KaKiaYam - February 21, 2009

rest well, eli.

…do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorow will worry about itself…

The rakyat and Ms Wong’s constituents have not given up hope on her yet.. There are convoys, get-togethers, and signature campaigns being organised to show support.. I hope these signals are strong enough for her and her bosses to persuade her to stay on.. Pls come forward and join these activities, for the good of our nation and a better Malaysia for all races..

17. zach - February 21, 2009

i sympathise at what happen to you. I knew your name as blogger before being a politician. Now you see that politics is really dirty. What more with those shits trying to get back the power by all means and undemocratically. Hope you will not stop blogging because you are still needed even if you are not present in the Dewan. Its a pity for the voters of Bukit Lanjan for losing you who they voted and have confidence with.

18. Yen - February 22, 2009

Hi Elizabeth,

This episode has not degraded you at all. Quite the contrary. I am just an ordinary citizen working as a young professional in the Damansara area. I admire your political and social work. I even admire your art work.

The content of the pictures and videos, whatever it may be, whether unintentional or intentional, will not change my opinion of what you are; a very gifted and real person who knows how to live and to love both nature and humanity. Any man or woman on the street with more than half a brain and less than half the hypocrisy of a certain dentist, can understand what is happening.

I know I cannot comprehend the true extent of your grief. But please, know that this is not and will not be a waste. All that you have fought for, has not gone to waste. We, the simple and ordinary citizens of Malaysia are getting angrier by the day. If anything, you helped made up the minds of those who were, in the past, politically ambivalent or nonchalant. No, it is not a waste. If you come back to us, we would have gained a new found respect for your sheer strength and rejoice greatly… we will welcome you with open arms. If you choose to tread along another path instead, we will be somewhat disappointed, but you would be admired and remembered forever in this poignant role as a political martyr, a legend even in this horrible play.

Whatever your decision may be, please remember that you are a hero. You have accomplished more for your country and other nations, than many others, including me, in this lifetime.

“I have fought the good fight. I have completed the race. I have kept the faith.”

Sincerely,
Yen.

They can stop u from being an exco.
They can stop u from being an assemblyman.

But they can NEVER stop u from being the icon of The New Politics.

20. Bill - February 22, 2009

Dear Miss Elizabeth Wong,

Pity you for what non responsive people had done to you recentle. Remember that we are an ordinary human being that need our private life belong to ourself. Take care and take a good rest out there. . . . You will reach to the top again one day when the people realise that you had done nothing wrong with any law in Malaysia.

Wish you all the best and never give-up.

21. alvina - February 22, 2009

you will be fine.

22. Leo - February 22, 2009

I have no interests in Malaysian politics but the perpetrator has done a most despicable thing. I am quite sure his family and friends are ashamed of him. I agree that you are just a victim. Certainly, being undressed in the privacy of one’s own home is not immoral.

What is more immoral is to betray the one whom one has been intimate with and that is what the perpetrator is, an immoral animal.

23. FATIMA AZAHRA - February 22, 2009

Saya amat mengharapkan sdri kuat, jangan berundur. Jika sdri berundur mereka akan ketawa berdekah-dekah kerana berjaya mengalahkan sdri. Kuatkan diri! Teruskan khidmat sdri, pengundi-pengundi di belakang sdri.

24. Hui Yee - February 22, 2009

Hi Elizabeth, I just wanted to say that you have my utmost support through this crisis.
No one in the world should have her privacy violated like yours, and no one should have her sexuality used against her in this most despicable manner.
Many of us – in Malaysia and around the world – are rooting for you, waiting for you to get back on your feet and fight the bigger battles that need to be fought in Malaysia.
Take care, and don’t let them get you down.

25. evelynn - February 22, 2009

Hopefully the media will not continue to write any bad things about you.I think you should not care about the news, time will let the news away.Just be strong to fight to the propaganda!

26. mohd ali ismail - February 22, 2009

“To err is human to forgive divine”.Everybody in this word makes mistakes and that includes those that have been throwing insults at you. They are making more mistakes for insulting you. This is your day,I am sure their turn will come sooner or later.God is kind.I wish you luck,God bless!

27. Bing Bing - February 22, 2009

Dear Elizabeth,

Do take as much time as you need to find peace and serenity. Seek HIM at all times for HE knows what is best for you at all times. What have been done to you and whoever did it will find judgement upon themselves eventually. Nothing evil will ever get pass our Lord without justice!

I trust you will comeback to us with greater strength and wisdom in due time. You will always be loved and respected for who you are and what you stand for. Be strong!

As for any Christian who cast judgment upon you, I ask them to refrain and reflect on this scripture, “I tell you, on the day of judgement, people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” — Matthew 12:36-37

Remember, whoever judge on another will be judged 100 folds by our Almighty!

For those of you who cannot say anything nice or good for someone who is hurting, please don’t say anything at all! The issue here is not about morality, IT IS ABOUT POLITICAL ETHICS! Thanks!

Once again Elizabeth, may peace and love be with you always!

God Bless You!

28. YK Chua - February 23, 2009

Dear Eli,

You have done nothing wrong. Hence no neccesity to resign. We need a dedicated people’s representative like you in our hour of need. We need your continued leadership and guidance to strive for the bigger objective of a better Malaysia for all. Don’t let the devils succeed in side tracking you. Please stay on and let us fight on together. We are 100% behind you.

29. ffy - February 23, 2009

Dear our respectable Eli,

I can comprehend your predicament, i will respect your decision even though i don’t wish to see you quit. Never mind take a rest, and come back even stronger, our dear respectable Elizabeth. It’s ok, let them do all the monkey tricks, the most the rakyat will suffer another 3yrs, looking at the brighter side, the darkness of BN is prevailing, it’s good to see how dirty BN can go, i can assure you the next election BN will die flat. They are digging their own grave yard, and dig deeper and deeper… and this is a wake up call to the rakyat, because they are so dirty until people who are not interested in politic also want to stand up and do something for this corrupted sakai government.

Be patient our beloved Eli, even though you have decided to resign but you are still our YB forever.

We will wait for you, we all know after the rain has gone you will see the rainbow, you will come back even stronger. We will wait for you.

In the nutshell : PKR is paving the road. BN is digging their own grave yard.

Let them continue to act like sakai / moron, we just sit back and watch the monkey show. haha.. they thought the rakyat all are stupid but i really feel sorry for them because they didn’t even realize they are the clowns… hahahahha…

I was once very upset and frustrated to see their moron act, but after awhile when i calmed myself down i notice they are like the clowns in the circus, the more i see the more confident that i have that the next election, BN will be totally gone…and even possible to lose 100% of their seats.

Let them continue to accumulate their sins, God is actually doing HIS mighty work now because without them doing such joker’s tricks how would the rakyat see the true color of them? Don’t you think this is a blessing in disguise?

Be strong Eli, keep us posted, we want to see you get well soon. Take good care of yourself. cry out loud when you feel like it, release out whenever you want. Get yourself healed and stand up tall!!

Elizabeth forever!!!!!!! we love you!!!!!!!
