SARAWAK – Here we come! 😀

An awful day for Najib and BN

Commentary by Wan Hamidi Hamid (Malaysian Insider)

JAN 17 — It was a horrible blow for Datuk Seri Najib Razak. The prime minister-in-waiting has now lost two by-elections in less than five months.

Both the by-election results saw higher majority votes for the federal opposition.

Najib did his best for his beloved Barisan Nasional in the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election. Yet the voters in the BN stronghold decided to vote for Umno’s arch enemy Pas.

He made many promises, granted many projects and offered a lot of goodies, and yet the voters rejected BN.

Is this a bad omen or merely another “minor” setback for the deputy prime minister who has a tough task ahead of him to take over from Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi this March?

Throughout the 11-day campaign period, Najib had worked diligently to ensure victory for BN candidate Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Salleh. According to journalists covering the by-election, he was one of the hardest working campaigners for the federal ruling coalition.

If it was not his fault, would BN leaders blame the voters? It may not be a smart idea to do so. After all, Terengganu voters were among those who helped BN increased its votes in the state when the political tsunami hit the country on March 8 last year.

What does the result mean for Umno and BN?

Besides the expected morose look on the faces of BN leaders tomorrow, the coalition’s backbone Umno will also face yet another question on its actual strength to bring the Malays back to its fold.

This dreaded question — is Umno still relevant — will continue to haunt its leaders. Since Abdullah is set to leave the political arena, Najib has to inherit all the misgivings and wrong perception brought about by his soon-to-be predecessor.

If Umno persists in blaming others in its post-mortem of the by-election, it would simply mean it does not want to address the root cause of the problem; and would further damage the image of the party.

Worse still, Umno will continue to lose its battle against perception of elitism, ignoring the people and too concerned with its own personal interests.

Yet in a more negative way, it can also push certain party leaders — particularly those entering the race for party posts in March — to be more insular and parochial in their racial approach to win the hearts and minds of their own supporters.

This could mean a more divided Malaysia. Unless the Pakatan Rakyat is willing to step in to provide a real alternative.

Pas candidate Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut’s victory was a second coming for Pakatan; the much-need shot in the arm for the loose coalition, after Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s official political comeback five months ago when he regained his Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat.

Pas’s victory will also wipe away any possibility of the party trying to be friendly with Umno, despite the efforts by some of its top leaders almost a year ago. This will bring the party a new sense of confidence.

Other Pakatan partners — Parti Keadilan Rakyat and DAP — are already jumping for joy. Not only are they celebrating their partner’s victory, this is also the time for them to regroup for the next general election.

While the post-mortem on both sides will reveal the actual turn of events and provide more details, it can be safely deduced that most Chinese voters opted for Pas while there was a swing among Malay voters for Pas.

It was the Malay votes that had got Umno so worried and the damage had been done in Kuala Terengganu. Just like a football game, losing on your home turf will certainly have a deep psychological impact.

BN biting the dust is too kind a description for these maggots in UMNO.
Is this the beginning of the fall of this racist evil regime?
When this coalition becomes a bankrupt in policies to better the livelihood of ordinary citizens, this result was expected. In time of world financial difficulties, these UMNO goons were behaving like drunken sailors!
“MONEY can’t buy me Love”

By losing his inspiration in KT, DPM the general-in-chief, shall resign and vacate the post to Ali Ketam who wish to build a bridge to Sumatra. Jib will be appointed Ambassador to Repubilc of Mongolia and Razak be the Political Analyst for him there.

Many may not know how happy Lah is today when flying to M.East (Kot ohang yg ingin tumbangkan aku, karang gi mana rasa?) Lah lost little but bang Jib was blown on the cheek. 10 mins close-account speech with empty chairs prepared for 35 tables dancing dinner..Jib should have blamed the dear voters for not voting BN (after being promised and given extra so much)

Lost 2/3 majority – 1st round
Lost Pematang Pauh – 2nd round
Lost K. Trengganu – 3rd round
Going to lost – Pensiangan Sabah
Going to lost – Sarawak many many seats
Going to lost Putrajaya….

Sabahan/Sarawakian, now we pass the ball to you, please keep it rolling….remove the abuse, corrupt and greed that have brought you disasterious pains in your state. Now is turn we pray for you..

Jump baby jump!

On Jan 17, we observed another failure hitting right on the face of Najib, our DPM. This was the third political tsunami in a year. What can I say, the unwelcome Barisan National is sinking like Titanic into South China Sea.

Last night, we heard the voices and saw the power of the Rakyat. We saw how majority of Kuala Terengganu voters joined the call for change from the rest of Malaysians. And yes, it is a change that happens from the bottom up, not from the top down.

Last night, we saw again, how Najib refused to acknowledge the fact of his poor leadership and his poor popularity among the citizens. We saw how his monetary actions had again failed to fool the voters in the second by-election.

Last night’s result showed that KT citizens do not want to inherent the old dirty politics of Barisan National. What the people want is a real party that not only can bring hope to the nation, but to carry out the changes for a better nation. And we know to make the change happen, BN has to be out of the system!

We want a nation for all Malaysians. We want equal treatment like every body else. We want to live a “Malaysian dream” just like how people in another corner of the world enjoy the “American dream”.

As for the other BN leaders, shame on you if you continue to ignore the wish of the citizens. You know nothing can stop the momentum now, people will continue to fight till the day comes.

My last words for everyone who wants to survive from the coming disaster, “jump baby jump” before it’s too late. You do not know how skillful your pilot is, you might not be as lucky as the survivors of the plane crash into Hudson River. You know what I mean.

And thank you, especially to everyone who voted for PAS!

Ezam and Najib, see you soon in the coming Pensiangan by-election. Ezam, don’t forget to bring your “kotak” yah? See u soon!

Malaysians cannot be bought at the polls anymore Najib. They only want 2 things and get this into your thick head : no corruption in the system AND inter-racial peace & harmony.

I am grateful and thank them…..on behalf of my children and grand children.
Not only as champions….but most of all….truths always win.
12th election is no fluke.
The 13th will be the ultimate dream come true for all Malaysians.
Dream on…fight on…with eyes wide open.
Make sure fear factors and briberies by UMNO do not work.
Be brave and calm…to shame the devils.
More than one million Malaysians will be out of job..these two months.
Crime rates will increase….if UMNO keep fooling around.
Hope they like honourable men….do real good for Malaysians.for once.
Maybe should create a huge store..and start being a world salesman for Malaysia…..to keep factories alive.

its certainly a horrifying state of affairs when religious psychopaths like PAS are the flavor of the day (recall their rabid reaction to Dung’s boxer short bearing, rabid calls to ban insidious entertainment like the Lavigne gig).

Welcome to The future Caliphate of Mal-Quaeda.
